Hailey's Art Portfolio

The subject of my photo is Glen, the doll from the "Child's Play" series. I used Adobe Lightroom and applied a preset and changed the exposure, contrast, and highlights to convert the from a colorful image to black and white. This edit transformed the original, colorful photo into a monochromatic, unsettling portrayal. The absence of color enhances the doll's eerie presence, making it appear scarier and more menacing. This shift from vibrant hues to a grey scale profoundly changes the photo's mood, highlighting how editing can dramatically alter the emotional impact of an image.

Back Lighting
As an artist, I investigate the interplay of light and shadow to express a range of perspectives. By employing different techniques, I elicit various emotions in each piece. Split lighting accentuates features with one light source, while rim lighting introduces depth through a gentler top light. Back lighting casts captivating shadows, encouraging viewers to connect with the complex essence of my work.
